Supported by Cofic, the Complex-based companies maintain a constant dialogue with the neighbor communities. The Community Advisory Council and the Center for Community Defense - as well as the programs addressing visits to the companies - improve the relationship between the Complex and the nearby communities.
Individually or through Cofic, the companies promote social programs, maintain partnerships with universities and research institutions and sponsor social-cultural activities such as music, dance, theater, visual arts and literature.
The Polo Citizenship (Polo de Cidadania) stands out among the social programs in the community. Through such initiative, free services are offered to community members in the areas of health, education, sports, culture and leisure.
Through Cofic, the companies contribute to education improvement in public schools installed in the neighboring communities of Camaçari and Dias D´Ávila.
In the Environmental area, the INCECC – Coconut Coast Ecological Corridor Institute coordinates the plantation and maintenance of forests, aiming the recovery of degraded areas around the Complex, through production of seeds and planting of native trees with the participation of community members.
