Cofic establishes safety rules/procedures for the Complex and coordinates the following programs and activities:.
MUTUAL AID PLAN (PAM)
Through this plan any company can request the aid of the other companies in emergency situations. It involves human and material resources from the companies, such as medical staff, firefiting brigades, emergency equipment, etc.
INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX CONTINGENCY PLAN
Establishes norms, procedures, training and guidelines for the companies in emergency situations.
COMMUNITY EMERGENCY PLAN
Establishes norms, procedures and training for nearby communities in emergency preparedness.
HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL PRIZE
Audit program addressing HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) management practices.
APPOLO II PROJECT (RISK ASSESSEMENT)
Risk scenarios are periodically evaluated by all companies, resulting in subsidies to the risk management program.
Surveillance is provided for entire Complex.
MEDICAL EMERGENCY PLAN
This program provides medical emergency assistance for the companies. It is composed of specialized professionals (physicians and nurses), ambulances (IC units), modern equipment for life support and service agreements with hospitals and clinics.
In this area, Cofic coordinates preventive actions for environmental protection in the associated companies. It represents the Responsible Care Program and also coordinates technical groups composed of representatives from the companies. This program has interface with IMA - Instituto de Meio Ambiente (Bahia State Environmental Agency) and other agencies.
